It's social media that becomes a guestbook after you move out. The next tenants at your apartment will be able to see that "a previous tenant" posted stuff from their apartment, but they will not know your name or other personal information. Imagine the benefits of reading a guestbook before you move somewhere - get a feel for neighborhood, get warnings about the landlord, enjoy entertaining roommate stories, and maybe make a friend. Renters have the power to help renters.

Really need to meet people. Food festivals? Popular parks with basketball and/or swimming pools? : Been living in Fairfax for several months and a lot of the advice for meeting people is super generic/ridiculous. My hobbies don't seem to 'match' my personality. I'm not totally writing off Meetup.com but it's lazy advice IMO. There's a lot of older people, gamers (who are often times super cool but I haven't owned a console in like 6 years and the only board games I play are word games like banan
Wtf is up with Vienna metro? : I was dropped off at Vienna and swiped my card at the turnstile. I was about to go down the escalator when a lady came up from the platform and told me “there’s no more metro”. I glanced down the stairs and saw a gate and it seemed closed off. She mentioned police and I believed her. She gestured for me to leave through the emergency gate. There was no one else at the metro. We left the station and the only other people that Im guessing were on the train/platform
