Hottest place ever! : So we visited Belize 4 years ago! I was so in love with that place! We stayed in Placencia. It was in June. We would open the door to walk outside and I thought I might die?!! First generation Belizean American; want to connect to my culture as a new father : Hi all. My dad left Belize when it was British Honduras. Outside of a bit of food and music I didn't get much of a connection to our culture. Later on in life my dad said it was his biggest regret - not staying close to his roots - but he got here at a turbulent time and wanted to fit in. As a new father I want my daughter to connect with her culture and wanted to know what that was for you and how other Belizeans abroad have kept it close. Thanks for your time. Full Article

Working remotely and wanting to move to Belize... : While I understand work visas are required for those wishing to live and work in Belize, so as not to take jobs that can be done just as well by Belizeans, I was wondering if anyone knows if I would have to obtain a work visa if my work is done remotely, over the Internet. While I'm sure I could just bring my laptop and do my work, I don't want to run afoul of the law. Full Article

Reopening : Now that numbers are rising, do you have any guesses for when they might reopen? I know not everyone was on board with reopening PGIA on August 15, and I understand their decision to push that date back. But is it sustainable to keep borders closed? And potentially until an effective vaccine is formulated and widely available?
