Max rent on £21k salary? : Hi! I’ve done a bit of research and I feel like the consensus is to spend max 1/3 of your monthly income on rent. For my PhD stipend of £21,000 that comes out to about £577.50 per month. I’m just wondering - do you guys tend to stick to the 1/3rd rule? In your opinion, is this a good rule to stick by or does it tend to be too conservative? I understand that everyone budgets differently - but was curious as to what everyone thought!
