Need help finding a Psychiatrist and none of the usual avenues are working. Could use a recommendation : I recently moved up from Florida, where I was getting stellar care. Through a series of bad decisions and habits, I've become noncompliant with my medication and I have lost 17 pounds in two months. I have a history of drug abuse ("only" marijuana), depression, and anxiety. I am still sober, but I've gone from emotionally/mentally being an 8/10 to a 2/10 since I've moved here in February, and I'm freaking out and suffering as I start the slide down to 1/10 and god forbid I become suicidal again. I'm working as a govt contractor and working ridiculous hours so I've let this slip, but every time I look up providers I can't seem to make sense of it. I have BCBS Tennessee PPO. Their search function is absolute trash (it provides me a list of 500 providers, including some at a children's only hospital and the VA...). JHU and Shepherd Pratt have no openings. Searching "Best psychiatrist Baltimore" returns a bunch of out-of-network providers. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or a process I can follow to get an answer and get treatment ASAP? I've called Medstar and asked if they have openings, and they said they would get back to me. I basically need medication management and maybe some therapy. Full Article
