Cattle Club 30th Anniversary show at Harlow's tomorrow night : I realize this will only be relevant to a small percentage of people on this sub, but I just found out about this from someone who is going so figured I'd post it here. Harlow's is having a show tomorrow night with local Sacramento bands that played the Cattle Club back in the day. Tomorrow is the 30th anniversary to the day of the first Cattle Club show. From The Bee: The name “Cattle Club” is permanently etched in Sacramento lore. In its heyday, the now long-shuttered Folsom Boulevard haunt served as a de facto home base for many a local band (Deftones, Cake, etc.) and hosted throngs of national touring acts such as Nirvana, Sublime and No Doubt in their infancy. Thirty years to the day after the very first show at the beloved dive, Cattle Club alums 58 Fury, FMK, Ian Faith, Kepi Ghoulie and Phallucy along with “Sacramento’s most hated DJ” Dennis Yudt (and who knows who might show up) will gather at Harlow’s for tunes and memories. A smattering of vintage show posters will also be available for sale. Doors 5 p.m. $20 adv./ $25 door." According to Kepi's Facebook page, Anton Barbeau is going to be there and Kepi says he's doing an "old school" set so I take that to mean some Groovie Ghoulies stuff. Some of the other bands have members that have since moved out of the area but are flying into Sacramento to play the show. It might be worth checking out if you were around back in the days of the Cattle Club and were into any of these local bands. submitted by /u/PowerWindows85 [link] [comments] Full Article
