OPP ticketed me for turning off the mounted mobile device : Hello folks, I'd like to share this with you to get some opinions. When I was driving on the 400 series highway, was about to exit, I decided to turn off my phone, which I was using as a GPS and was mounted at that time. However, OPP saw me, pulled me over, and ticketed me. I kind of admitted, apologized her for my actions, and promised it will never happen again. This whole situation took only 10 minutes. Now, here comes the question. I checked online and found out that turning off a handheld device does not cause a penalty but at that time I did not know that and did not discuss it with the officer. So, although I have no proof to show it at the court, should I go for a trial? I just want to avoid an increase in my insurance premium. Any opinion is appreciated. Thank you!! Full Article
